The annual Heritage Day and Fall Festival will be held at Frances Slocum State Park on Sunday, October 14, 2018 from Noon until 5:00 pm in the Pavilion 1 and 2 area.
Activities will include crafts for kids, drumming, old fashioned brain teasers, face painting, butter making, corn shelling, fresh produce for sale, and much more!!
Scheduled events include:
1:00 pm The Frances Slocum Story as told by John Moore, the Frontier Storyteller
2:00 pm Live Animal Show with Pocono Wildlife Rehabilitation Center
3:00 pm Join Van Wagner for a special, one-hour performance of storytelling and music that commemorates the 125th anniversary of state parks.
A wide variety of live demonstrations continue throughout the afternoon. The demonstrations and displays include: Spinners’ Web, wool prep, and spinning demonstration; Indian Artifact Display; T & D’s live animals; Maple sugaring demonstration; Nanticoke Conservation Club: Animal taxidermy display Smokey Bear & Forestry; Log cutting demonstration; Master Watershed Stewards; Honeybee Display; The Quilters; Turkish paper marbling; Swetter’s Live Deer; The Denison Advocates; Master Gardeners; 24th Connecticut Militia Regiment; PA Amphibians Reptile Survey; Pennsylvania Woodmobile; Monarch butterfly display; DAR; Luzerne County Recycling.
