Railroad Movie Day at the Anthracite Heritage Museum on February 23rd
Scranton—The Anthracite Heritage Museum in McDade Park will show The Hard Coal Roads: What Went Wrong, on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 2 p.m. The DVD visits the anthracite railroads that once made the region famous as the “anthracite capital of the world!” This new release features previously rare and unreleased film from the Lehigh Valley, Reading, Jersey Central, Erie Lackawanna, Delaware and Hudson and Penn Central Railroads. The snow date for this program is Sunday, March 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. The DVD was produced by Charles Smiley and will also be available for sale in the Museum Store.
The program is open free of charge to the public. Admission is charged for the Museum’s main exhibit, Anthracite People: Immigration & Ethnicity in Pennsylvania’s Hard Coal Region, and temporary exhibitions.
